If you are currently popping Accutane pills to treat your acne, you may already be asking yourself, how can I get rid of my acne scars/red marks left by spots?
Many acne sufferers have found that bio oil can help heal acne scars. Bio oil is ideally used for scars, stretch marks and uneven skin tone, but can also be used for insect bites/stings and dry or scaly skin.
Bio oil is surprisingly non-greasy and works by softening your skin. Bio Oil can work well for Accutane users because your skin is usually extremely dry during treatment, so your skin needs to be moisturized regularly.
Try to avoid using excessive amount of bio oil whilst taking Accutane treatment, due to the high levels of Vitamin A found in bio oil. Accutane already contains large amounts of Vitamin A so you should be careful you do not overdose. I would recommend applying no more than twice a day.
How to apply bio oil in the morning?
To get the best results from bio oil, follow these three steps:
- Wash your face with water.
- While your face is still wet dab bio oil over your red marks.
- Dab your face dry with a towel (only dab gently because if you wipe all the oil off your skin it will become dry again).
Avoid using bio oil if you are not taking Accutane and you have oily skin, as you will be more prone to breakouts.
